Why I bought it
I work from the sitting room on a boulevard. I did not need a cave. I needed the scooters and the pavement talk to stop sitting in the calls. That is why I bought this line and not a blackout I would never close in the day.
It is not silence. Bass from traffic still comes through. They say minus 22 dB, not a sealed room, and that is honest. Voices and the mid noise drop. Colleagues stopped asking me to repeat. Evenings, we use the room again instead of hiding in the back.
Coverage is the whole trick. Ready-made always leaked at the sides; that leak was the noise. Made-to-measure, extra width as they recommend, the panel actually covers the reveal. Sleep over the bar downstairs is not perfect. Door slams no longer wake me.
I felt the sample first. Thick polyester “acoustic” linings I had tried were costume. This has weight and a proper close. If you want cinema hush, this is the wrong product. If you have a real window on a real street, this is the purchase I would make again.
