Daylight stays in the room. From the street you cannot see in once it is drawn. That was the brief. Soft, not a blackout, and that is why I bought it.

Why I bought it
I almost ordered the 3-in-1 for the sitting room because “blackout” sounded responsible. It would have killed the Haussmann light. This is the line for people who want daylight and privacy, not a cave.
Ground floor on a pavement: in the day it is soft, not grey. In the evening you see a glow, not the room. Neighbours opposite cannot read the sofa. Real linen elsewhere in the house creases and I will not iron a curtain. This has the slub and the dry hand, every day, without the weekend theatre.
South kitchen-diner: it stops the sun bouncing off the table without turning noon into dusk. I ordered the sample kit. Colour on screen was warmer than the cut. Fullness at 2×, pencil tape, custom drop on a tall sash that nothing in a catalogue would cover. Guests ask if it is linen. I say look, not fibre.
If you need dark for sleep, this is the wrong product. I nearly made that mistake. For a room you actually live in, this is why I paid for made-to-measure.
Maison Curtains
Elliot, thank you. Linen-look is daylight and privacy, not a blackout. The hang, the sample, then the panel: that is the product.
Sample kit first, always. Then the drop.
Daylight
I did not want a cave. I wanted daylight without people seeing in from the street. This linen-look filters, it does not black out. That is the point. Sitting room stays bright, silhouettes are gone. That is why I did not buy the 3-in-1 for this window.
Linen look
Real linen creases and I will not iron curtains. This has the slub and the dry hand without the maintenance. Hung, it reads as linen from the sofa. That was the reason: the look, every day, not at the weekend.
Privacy
Ground-floor window on a pavement. Privacy without killing the light. In the evening you see a glow, not the room. In the day it is soft, not grey. I measured for a full wave so it does not look skimpy.
Daylight
If you need dark for sleep, this is the wrong product. I almost ordered it for the bedroom. For the living room it is right: light, texture, made-to-measure drop on a tall Haussmann window. I took a star off for my own confusion, not the cloth.
Made to measure
I wanted the Haussmann fold, not a flat panel. Custom width at 2×, pencil tape. The linen-look takes the wave well. Neighbours opposite cannot see in. Light still comes. That combination is why this line exists.
Daylight
Kitchen-diner, south light. Blackout would have killed the room. These keep the sun from bouncing off the table without turning noon into dusk. Easy to live with. Colour is calmer than on screen. Order the sample kit.
Linen look
I have real linen elsewhere and it looks tired. This stays even. Same visual family, less theatre. Guests ask if it is linen. I say look, not fibre. That is enough.
Made to measure
Tall sash, nothing in the catalogue was long enough. Custom drop, grommets. Privacy from the garden, daylight in. I should have done made-to-measure years ago instead of a too-short linen that showed the sill.

Your questions.
Can you see through it?
In daylight, no. Light is diffused, like frosted glass. In the evening, with the lights on, silhouettes can show: pair it with a blackout if you want full privacy.
I'm worried I'll get the measurements wrong.
Our 3-step measuring guide helps you pick a catalogue size or enter your own. The Maison Curtains Exact-Fit Guarantee (£49.00) covers a free remake if you ordered made-to-measure.
Will it work with my pole?
Three headings: Grommet, Korean Pleat and Hook. See our heading guide to match your pole.
How long does delivery take?
Delivery takes 6 to 11 business days, Monday to Friday. You get an email at each step, with tracking as soon as it leaves.
How do I wash it?
Machine wash at 30°C, delicate cycle. No tumble dryer. Iron on low, reverse side. Performance holds after washing.
Can I return it?
30-day returns. Manufacturing defects can be returned or exchanged free of charge. Made-to-measure cannot be returned for change of mind — that is what the Exact-Fit Guarantee is for.
